Course Overview:

Skid Steer course certifies trainees to operate a skid steer on a worksite.

Learning Objectives & Specific Outcomes:

Skid Steer Training is a Heavy Equipment Entry-Level training course. Trainees develop the needed skills to safely operate skid steer machinery, utilize safe operating procedures and identify hazards on the worksite.

Topics Include:

This 1-day Skid Steer Loader Training Course combines classroom experience with hands-on training. In-class, participants learn relevant provincial and federal skid steer regulations, site and equipment inspection techniques and preventative maintenance, and general safety tips. In the hands-on portion the instructor demonstrates proper operator procedures, covering startup and shutdown procedures, front and rare tie downs fundamentals, steering and positioning, lift height requirements and loading and hauling. Trainees must pass a written exam and demonstrate proficiency with the machine in a hands-on practicum to receive their certificate to become a skid steer loader.
