What is the NFPA?

The NFPA stands for the National Fire Protection Agency. It is a global nonprofit organization founded in 1896 that is devoted to eliminating death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards.

This course is for individuals who are seeking verification that their technical rescue skills meet minimum job performance requirements defined by the NFPA. The certification is broken into two levels: Level 1 (operations) and level 2 (technician). The minimum requirements for this course is that the person trained can meet the job project requirements and has the ability to perform the objectives safely and completely. To be referred to as a technician, the trainee must demonstrate this and complete Rope Rescue Level 2.
