Track Excavator Training

Course Description:

Track Excavator Training is a Heavy Equipment Entry Level Skills Training course required for anyone who will be operating a track excavator on the worksite. A driver’s licence and 10th grade education is required, and other prerequisites may also include WHMIS training, Ground Disturbance Level Two, and Standard First Aid depending on the worksite.  

Learning Objectives & Specific Outcomes: 
The 4-day Track Excavator Training Course combines classroom experience with hands-on training. In-class, participants learn relevant provincial and federal excavator regulations, inspection techniques, electric and hydraulic systems, and safety tips. In the hands-on portion the instructor demonstrates proper operator procedures, covering topics such as trenching and excavating, steering and positioning, operating various attachments, and more. Trainees must pass a written exam and demonstrate proficiency with the machine in a hands-on practicum
