OFA 1 Occupational First Aid - Out Of Jurisdiction

Course Objective:

OFA 1 (Occupational First Aid) - Out of Jurisdiction program certifies workplace first aiders who possess equivalent out-of-jurisdiction OFA1 certificates, allowing them to work as an OFA L1 First Aid Attendant in BC.

Learning Objectives & Specific Outcomes:

This is not a course, but rather a certification program for out-of-jurisdiction first aiders. Occupational first aid attendants who have trained in other provinces do not need to be retrained, but they do need to familiarize themselves with BC laws and regulations.

Topics Include:

The 1-day OFA Level 1 certification program is self-study with a supervised exam portion. The course provides reading material to familiarize participants with BC’s occupational first aids laws, regulations, and standards. Once participants have reviewed the material, they must pass a written exam.
