Course Overview:
Snowplow Truck training is a Heavy Equipment Entry-Level course required for anyone who will be operating a snowplow. A driver’s license and 10th grade education is required, and other prerequisites may also include WHMIS training and Standard First Aid. Sanding Truck Training may be a useful companion course.
This 3-day Snowplow Truck Training Course combines classroom experience with hands-on training.
In-class, participants learn relevant provincial and federal snowplow regulations, inspection techniques, safety tips, defensive driving, and when weather conditions require the deployment of snowplows. In the hands-on portion the instructor demonstrates proper operator procedures, covering topics such as navigating poor road conditions and operating the plow. Trainees must pass a written exam and demonstrate proficiency with the machine in a hands-on practicum to receive their certificate.
