Course Objective:
This course certifies trainees in rescue operations for one specific low- to moderate-risk confined space, allowing employers to meet government regulations with regards to providing rescue operations for that space.
Confined Space Vessel Rescue is an Emergency Services Training course. Based on a pre-existing hazard assessment, participants will create and execute a rescue plan designed for a specific low- to moderate-risk confined space and ultimately achieve competency in a space-specific rescue. (Please note that participants do not receive a Rescue Operations certificate which permits them to perform general rescues.)
This 1 to 2 day Confined Space Vessel Rescue Course & Day of Practice Scenarios is offered on-site. Participants review a hazard assessment which has been performed ahead of time on a specific low- to moderate-risk confined space and develop a rescue plan for that specific space with the instructor. Depending on prior experience, available rescue equipment and the characteristics of the confined space in question, trainees then spend between one and two full days executing that rescue plan in practice scenarios. (Please note that employers/clients should provide rescue equipment to ensure participants are practicing in real-world conditions.) Trainees are evaluated based on their success in these practice scenarios.
