3 Drownings in 2 Weeks on Okanagan Lake

  • Every year, approximately 520 Canadians die in water-related fatalities.
  • The absence of adult supervision is a factor in 75% of deaths by drowning for children under the age of 10. 
  • Children aged one to four accounted for 42% of fatalities involving backyard pools.
