Fire & Spark Watch Training

IRWIN'S Safety offers a comprehensive Fire and Spark Watch Training course designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to serve as effective safety watch personnel on worksites. This entry-level program is ideal for those aspiring to become skilled safety watchers and potential first responders, ensuring adherence to federal and provincial regulations concerning fire safety.

Course Overview:

The Fire and Spark Watch course is a one-day training program that educates participants about the responsibilities of a fire watch, including monitoring maintenance activities like welding that present significant fire hazards. Trainees learn to communicate with emergency response personnel, control small fires, and enforce fire safety protocols across the worksite.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will:

  • Understand federal and provincial regulations related to fire watch duties.
  • Identify various types of fires and appropriate extinguishing methods.
  • Learn fire prevention techniques and safety protocols.
  • Develop skills to operate fire extinguishers and other suppression devices effectively.
  • Gain the ability to act as first responders and emergency coordinators in fire incidents.

Course Content:
