The WHMIS 2015 course is an entry-level core training program designed to educate workers on the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in the workplace. It is also available at the "Become an Instructor" level for those interested in teaching WHMIS principles.

Participants will:

• Understand the nine Globally Harmonized System (GHS) classifications of hazardous materials.
• Learn to read and interpret WHMIS labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Identify and assess potential hazards associated with various chemicals and materials.

• Develop emergency response procedures for incidents involving hazardous materials.

This four-hour training includes:

• GHS Classifications: Detailed overview of the nine hazard classes and their associated symbols.
• WHMIS Labels and SDS: Instruction on how to read and utilize labels and Safety Data Sheets effectively.
• Hazard Identification: Techniques for recognizing and assessing workplace hazards related to hazardous materials.
• Safe Handling Practices: Best practices for the safe use, storage, and disposal of hazardous substances.

Certification:

Upon successful completion, participants receive a WHMIS 2015 certificate from IRWIN'S Safety, valid for three years.
