Course Objective:
JHSC - Incident Investigation course provides students with the tools and knowledge to effectively investigate incidents and successfully perform corrective actions. Provincially regulated workplaces require that a preliminary investigation is completed within 48 hours, with a more comprehensive and encompassing investigation to take place within 30 days. Upon completion, certificate holders will be able to effectively gather information, analyze it and arrive at a corrective solution to mitigate the incident's cause in the future.
Incident investigations are a fundamental function and responsibility of supervisors and Joint Health and Safety Committees. Unfortunately, they often lack a proper insight as to how to conduct an effective investigation. This course will provide participants with the opportunity to improve their investigative skills, determine ‘root causes’ and develop effective recommendations.
