Overhead Crane Training

IRWIN'S Safety offers Overhead Crane Training course designed for individuals who will be operating overhead cranes in workplace environments. This one-day program combines classroom instruction with hands-on training to ensure participants gain the necessary skills and knowledge for safe crane operation.

• Identify different types of rigging and their appropriate applications.

• Develop skills in measuring and estimating loads accurately.
• Recognize and avoid potential worksite hazards associated with crane operations.

Course Content:

The training includes:

• Regulatory Compliance: Overview of relevant provincial and federal overhead crane regulations.
• Rigging Types: Identification and application of various rigging types used in crane operations.
• Safe Operating Procedures: Instruction on dos and don'ts of crane operation, including hoisting, rigging, and radio communication.
• Load Measurement: Techniques for measuring and estimating loads to ensure safe lifting.
• Hazard Identification: Strategies for spotting and avoiding potential hazards on the worksite.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the written exam and hands-on practicum, participants receive an Overhead Crane Operator certificate from IRWIN'S Safety, valid for three years.
