Course Overview
The Propane Filling Training Course is a one-day program that combines classroom instruction with hands-on training. Participants will learn about relevant provincial and federal propane regulations, the characteristics of propane, associated safety hazards, and proper filling procedures for plant equipment, auto-tanks, and cylinders. The course covers the following key areas:
- Regulatory Compliance: Understanding provincial and federal propane regulations to ensure adherence to legal standards.
- Propane Characteristics and Hazards: Learning about the properties of propane, its flammability, potential leaks, and associated safety hazards.
- Filling Procedures: Gaining hands-on experience in proper propane filling procedures for various equipment and containers.
- Safety Equipment and PPE: Identifying and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety control valves during propane handling.

Participants must pass a written exam and demonstrate competency in a hands-on practicum to receive their Propane Filling Certificate, valid for three years.
