Course Objective:
Level 2 Advanced Rigger Training is an Entry Level course. It is intended for Level 1 Riggers who are looking to master more complex rigging techniques as they take on more responsibilities on the job site.
This course certifies trainees with a Level 2 Advanced Rigger certificate which equips them to manage complex loads, cranes and alternative lifting devices.
The 2-day Advanced Rigger course combines in-class training with hands-on training. In-class, participants learn how to perform various calculations, including calculating complex load weights and centers of gravity, as well as learning the components of various devices and pieces of equipment including cranes, wire ropes, below-the-hook devices and alternative lifting devices. In the hands-on portion, participants practice rigging with these devices and equipment, performing hoists, winches, clamping, man-basket-rigging as well as performing inspections on various pieces of equipment. They also learn about radio communications, specifically radio requirements and voice commands. Trainees must pass a written exam and demonstrate proficiency with various rigging devices to receive their certificate.
