Course Objective:
Shotgun Training covers the fundamentals of shooting using a shotgun. This course includes live fire and instruction to train students to safely and responsibly use a shotgun in all basic range conditions.
This course is not a firearm licencing course, it is designed for students to develop a further understanding of shotguns, their components, proper use and safety specifically. All students will require a PAL in order to be eligible for this course.
The goal of Shotgun Training is to familiarize students with shotguns. Often shotguns are required for certain industries (e.g., working in wilderness/remote areas) and this course will teach students to use a shotgun safety in these conditions.
Students are expected to provide their own shotgun, ammunition, accessories and personal protective equipment.
This one-day Shotgun Training course will cover the operation, maintenance and components of a shotgun, marksmanship, malfunctions, carry conditions, shooting techniques in both usual and unusual positions, Canadian laws and basic ballistics and penetration.
