Trailer Towing Class 5

Course Objective:

This course is for valid class 4 or 5 driver's license holders wanting to tow heavy commercial trailers weighing more than 4600kgs fully-loaded. This course does not cover or certify students in the use of air brake systems on the trailer or truck.

Learning Objectives & Specific Outcomes:

After completion of this course, students will be permitted to tow a heavy trailer without air brakes. This will allow students to work as drivers when towing heavy industrial trailers is mandatory. 

Topics Include:

• Specific braking and handling techniques for a heavy trailer/tow
• Preparation for the class 3 knowledge test at ICBC
