Zoom Boom

Course Objective:

Zoom Boom course certifies trainees with a Zoom Boom Heavy Equipment Operator’s Certificate which permits them to operate a zoom boom on a worksite.

Learning Objectives & Specific Outcomes:

Zoom Boom Training is a Heavy Equipment Entry-Level Skills Training course. Trainees develop the skills to safely operate zoom booms, utilize safe operating procedures and identify hazards on the worksite.

Topics Include:

The 1-day Zoom Boom Training Course combines classroom experience with hands-on training. In-class, participants learn relevant provincial and federal zoom boom regulations, site and equipment inspection techniques and preventative maintenance, and general safety tips. In the hands-on portion the instructor demonstrates proper operator procedures, covering startup and shutdown procedures, steering and positioning, lift operation and procedures for safely performing work at heights. Trainees must pass a written exam and demonstrate proficiency with the machine in a hands-on practicum to receive their certificate.
