Course Objective:
Rescue Awareness for Supervisors course certifies managers/supervisors to respond to rescue incidents that might occur on a worksite.
Rescue Awareness for Supervisors is an Emergency Services course. Trainees develop the skills to prevent and prepare for rescue incidents and learn how to manage them until professional rescue technicians arrive on scene. The focus is on at-heights and confined space rescue.
This 1-day Rescue Awareness for Supervisors course is offered in-class. Participants learn the relevant confined space and work-at-heights injury and fatality statistics as well as provincial and federal legislations for such work. Employer and supervisor responsibilities are also covered, including defence against litigation in the event of a workplace injury. Trainees learn how to spot and manage hazards and how to proactively design emergency response plans before rescue incidents occur. The course also covers rescue team's roles and responsibilities. Trainees must pass a written exam to receive their certificate.
