Course Objective:
PSTS's (Pipeline Construction Safety) course objective is to certify trainees with a Pipeline Construction Safety certificate which demonstrates the individual's knowledge of safe work processes on a pipeline construction project.
Pipeline Construction Safety is an Entry Level training course. Trainees learn about the pipeline construction process from beginning to end and discuss the various hazards which can present a great risk to workers during each construction phase.
This 1-day Pipeline Construction Safety course is offered in-class. Participants learn relevant provincial and federal pipeline safety regulations as well as how to recognize, assess, and control hazards. Hazards covered include front-end hazards, rigging and hoisting hazards, pipe & pipe assembly hazards, environmental hazards, and back-end hazards. Other topics include vehicle and equipment operation as well as emergency response. Trainees must pass a written exam to receive the certificate.
